During her talk, Donna presented a realistic insight into working aboard the ships, including the demands of the job, earning potential, travel opportunities and the specific qualities Steiner look for during the interview process. Course Leader, Martin Skivington commented, ‘it was an enthusiastic talk that even made the idea of sleeping in a bunk bed in cramped conditions for 9 months of the year sound appealing, especially when you consider the amazing travel destinations and experiences this career provides. It was also reassuring to hear an employer talk about the skills and qualities they look for in an employee, including the ability to speak confidently in public, professional qualifications and practical experience, all of which our students gain in abundance throughout their degrees’.
Three previous graduates from our health and fitness courses have been employed by Steiner over recent years, all of whom travelled the world and had fantastic experiences. Based on the reaction of the students who attended todays’ talk, it looks as if many more will follow the same path!
